This course focuses on introductory practices of mindful yoga, designed for practitioners who want to further understand physical therapy for the body. Whether you're a yoga enthusiast, non-yoga practitioner, or advanced yoga practitioner, this course combines yoga and physical therapy concepts to repair the body through rotation. As the workshop progresses,
Chris Su will analyze the details of movements to instill awareness in the practitioner's mind and body.We will divide the course into three different themes: shoulder and neck, spine, and pelvic restoration therapy.
Chris Su will share insights to help students achieve the most profound series of physical practices. Especially in this fast-paced urban environment, where everyone's life is very fast and busy day after day, leading to physical imbalances and many internal emotional issues.We will also explore how to coexist with oneself, transcending calm breathing and concentration to achieve physical relaxation.
Additionally, the course will emphasize physical restoration therapy solutions to help provide information and a series of self-practice posture sequences for those who want to heal physical ailments.
During the course, we will discuss the following topics:
- Basic Anatomy of Yin YogaShoulder, neck, and spine relaxation therapy (theory and practice) Pelvic care therapy (theory and practice)
- Mindful MeditationCalm breathing practice Exploring how to integrate mindfulness (observation) into asanas
- Yoga PranayamaRelaxation and stress-reduction pranayama Meridian-clearing pranayama
Suitable Participants:
- Yoga practitioners / non-yoga practitioners, or those interested in understanding mind-body restoration practices
- Knowledge workers, to increase inner acceptance space and reduce stress burden
- People with insomnia, emotional instability, frequent tension, or anxious personalities
- People with stiff joints or older individuals; Yin Yoga poses are suitable for them

Schedule:
August 9, 2024
- 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Meditation, breathing practice, Yin Yoga - shoulder, neck, and spine posture practice
- 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch break
- 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Yin Yoga - explanation of hip-opening postures for the pelvis
About Chris Su:
Chris Su Kok Leong is from Malaysia. He holds a Grade 8 piano certification from the Royal Academy of Music in the UK and a certificate in Italian Bel Canto. He began performing on stage at the age of six and has won 200 international singing competitions.
After graduating from Lim Kok Wing University in Malaysia, he started his singing career. At the age of 25, his life changed after attending a yoga class. He then went to India to study a 500-hour yoga course, ultimately becoming a certified yoga instructor. For him, yoga is not just physical exercise but also inner self-cultivation.
He holds an E-RYT certification from the Yoga Alliance USA and is currently studying Yin Yoga with Josh Summers and Sarah Powers. Additionally, he graduated from the Australian Blue Mountains Sound Therapy University's sound therapy program in 2016.
Chris Su is a pioneer in Mindful Yin Yoga teacher training in Malaysia and has been sharing instructor training courses worldwide for many years. In 2019, he published his first book "Finding Myself" in Taiwan. While living in Hong Kong in 2022, he published his second book "Urban Yoga: Creating Personal Healing."Currently, Chris Su resides in Osaka, Japan, and is working on his third book about singing bowl sound therapy.
